A benefit concert held was held Friday night in honor of the victims of the Newtown, Conn., massacre.

All of the proceeds from the show will go to the Sandy Hook Elementary School Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The concert has been planned for some time but with all that happened a few weeks ago, the show has taken on new meaning with new purpose.

In a special tribute to the victims the show opened with a moment of silence and the poem "There Is a Place" set to music.

The Newtown Scholarship Association planned before the unimaginable happened. It was founded in 1937 to provide need-based financial assistance to college-bound high school graduates from Newtown.

You can make donations online at www.newtownscholarship.org or by check to The Newtown Scholarship Association, P.O. Box 302, Newtown, CT 06470.
