A public watchdog group says it opposes the way a new Atlanta Falcons' stadium might be financed.
Common Cause Georgia says that as it stands now, some $350 million would come from public sources. But the group claims the Falcons and the Georgia World Congress Center are opposing public input in the planning.
"We're calling on the Falcons and the World Congress Center Authority to jointly commission and fund and support an economic impact analysis that will be comprehensive in its terms and its details," said Common Cause board member Wyc Orr said.
The cost of a new stadium could be up to a billion dollars. Of that amount, about a third would come from people visiting Atlanta through a hotel-motel tax.
