Some online stores charge different prices based on location: WSJ survey

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Wall Street Journal reports that some online stores have started to charge customers different prices, depending on where they live.

The journal did a survey of the prices being offered online by Staples.

It not only found that people living in different parts of the country were being charged different prices, it found you could be charged less if you lived near an Office Max or Office Depot.

The survey found that people living in higher income areas often paid less than people in low income areas because of the pricing structure.

In some cases, it found three different online prices for a simple stapler depending on where people lived.
