Police are investigating after the body of a young man was found near a bus stop in northwest Atlanta on Wednesday.
Authorities say it's too early to determine the cause of death, but they did say that the victim did have a gunshot wound.
Authorities told FOX 5 a passerby called 911. When police arrived, they say they found the body of a young man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the upper shoulder. A weapon was also recovered, according to Sgt. Ricardo Vasquez of the Atlanta Police Department.
Police can't say if the weapon found near the body was the weapon used in the shooting. At this point, they can't say much about the victim.
Officials say the body was found close to a bus stop on the other side of a guardrail in a wooded area.
Anyone with any information is being urged to call authorities.
