ATLANTA (AP) - A metro Atlanta health system and an American car manufacturer have partnered to trade communication and processing techniques aimed at improving employee teamwork.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/YfhIMj ) reports Marietta-based WellStar Health System and General Motors have been trading tips for the past three years, and the partnership has grown since then.
The newspaper reports doctors have visited GM assembly plants and GM engineers have visited WellStar's facilities.
GM recently donated a simulated assembly line WellStar employees use to make metal carts and check for defects.
Officials say the exercise is focused on improving teamwork and communication, and roughly 600 employees have participated the in the simulation.
WellStar Health System operates five hospitals in metro Atlanta.
