Police in Cobb County say dense fog likely contributed to a fatal Christmas Eve car accident.
On Monday around 10:40 p.m., police say a car traveling northbound on Powder Springs Road near Trellis Oaks Drive in Smyrna crossed the center line and collided with a 1999 Toyota Camry carrying four adults and a teenager.
Authorities say 1 of the Camry's passengers, 46-year-old Luca Kosic, of Marietta, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials say the other passengers were taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and were treated for minor injuries. The 39-year-old driver of the car who crossed the center line was also hospitalized for minor injuries.
Police say no charges have been filed and the accident is under investigation.
Smyrna is about 15 miles northwest of Atlanta.
