NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A dairy cow calf that was born at the Prospect Park Zoo in early December can now be seen on display at in the zoo's barnyard area, the Wildlife Conservation Society announced.

The male calf, born to a shorthorn milking cow named Tetley, is the first cow born at the zoo in Brooklyn, WCS said. He was sired by a Randall Lineback bull.

At birth, the calf weighed 84 pounds and could grow to half a ton at maturity, the society said.

The barnyard is also home to geese, goats, sheep, a turkey, and a miniature horse.

The Wildlife Conservation Society works to save wildlife and wild places around the world through science, global conservation, education, and running the world's largest system of urban wildlife parks that also include the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, and New York Aquarium.
