ASU football player's brother killed over Air Jordans
The Arizona State University Sun Devils are with heavy hearts Sunday after a football player Marion Grice's brother was shot to death in Houston over a pair of Nike Air Jordan "Bred XI" shoes.
"Just out of respect for his family..he needs to be with his family right now and we'll kind of play that date day to day," said ASU coach Todd Graham. "I really appreciate the Sun Devil nation putting their arms around him..we're family and there's a lot of things a lot more important than football."
Police say it appears two men followed Grice's brother home from a store where he purchased the new designer shoes.
The men approached him at gunpoint and demanded his shoes. The victim got into a car in an attempt to get away, but was shot while driving away.
