Emergency crews responded to a serious crash on Interstate 75 in Cobb County on Monday afternoon.
One woman was killed in a crash involving several vehicles on Interstate 75 in Cobb County on Monday. The accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 south of Delk Road.
According to Sgt. Dana Pierce of the Cobb County Police Department, a 2010 Nissan Sentra lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway, entering the path of a 2003 Dodge pickup truck which was pulling a double-axle trailer. The truck hit the Sentra and jackknifed, striking a guardrail off the emergency shoulder. The Sentra then hit the inner median wall, police said.
The driver of the Nissan, 24-year-old Fatma E. Shalaby, of Acworth, Ga., was killed, authorities said.
The driver of the Dodge and his passenger were not injured, according to police.
