EMU remembers student killed off-campus; no arrests

YPSILANTI, Mich. (WJBK) -

A moment of silence was held during Sunday's graduation ceremony at Eastern Michigan University to honor the memory of Julia Niswender, 23. The student was found dead in her off-campus Ypsilanti apartment Tuesday. Police are treating the case as a homicide. So far, no arrests.

Niswender lived on the first floor of the Peninsular Place apartments. She's been described as, "popular, well-liked and very well-thought-of."
