Anders Broman, the sharp shooting guard from Lakeview Christian Academy in Duluth became only the second player in Minnesota High School League play to eclipse the 4,000 point mark Saturday afternoon against Heritage Christian Academy. The basket, his eighth point of the game came on a baseline jumpshot. The game was immediately stopped and Broman was given a basketball and a standing ovation from both sides for his accomplishment.
Broman scored 52 points in the Lions 106-103 loss to Heritage, but in the process is only 42 points away from breaking Kevin Noreen's all time scoring record of 4,086 career points. Noreen shattered the record set by Ellsworth's Cody Schilling in the 2009-2010 season.
