MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis police need your help to identify a man who burglarized a south Minneapolis home last weekend and stole a purse while the homeowner was shoveling snow.

On Sunday, Dec. 9, a 70-year-old woman was shoveling the sidewalk in front of her home on the 3500 block of 18th Avenue South when she saw a man walk out her front door.

The suspect said something to the woman about helping her shovel snow, then walked away. Police believe the suspect entered the victim's home through an unlocked back door.

The woman later discovered her purse had been stolen and her credit cards had been used at several businesses that night.

Surveillance photos showing the two men who used the victim's credit cards that night are attached. The man wearing the red stocking cap has been identified as the man she saw walking out of her house.

Anyone who can identify either of these men or provide any other information about this case is asked to call Sgt. Mark Gasior at 612-673-5357 or email mark.gasior@minneapolismn.gov
