MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Rain, snow, freezing rain and sleet are all possible this weekend in the Twin Cities as another winter storm starts warm and finishes cold.
SATURDAY TIMELINE
Metro: Jumping between rain and snow through the day (rain to snow, then back to rain, then snow, etc) … slushy nuisance accumulations possible (1" – 3")
North: Rain changes to wet snow … up to 4" possible
South: mainly just wet … some mix
Much uncertainty still remains on precipitation type and when rain will transition to snow, but the best chance for seeing freezing rain and snow, with no periods of just rain, will exist across west central and central Minnesota. By Saturday night, any remaining precipitation will be falling as snow.
