MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Beer and wine sales totaled more than $900,000 in their first season at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium.
Associate Athletics Director Scott Ellison told The Minnesota Daily that beer sales were nearly double the projected amount. Gophers fans bought between 12,000 and 13,000 cups of beer at each game, generating an average of $129,610 per game.
Profits from alcohol sales go to the athletics department. Ellison says university officials are still tallying up the expenses and should have the final numbers within the next few weeks.
