DETROIT (AP) -- The office of Detroit Mayor Dave Bing says he met one-on-one with President Barack Obama to discuss topics including the city's financial crisis.
The meeting took place during Obama's Monday visit to Michigan.
Bing said in a statement he and Obama talked "about the potential of getting personnel to help us with the execution of our restructuring plan." Bing's office says they also talked about right-to-work legislation that's come to the forefront in Lansing.
Detroit's Financial Advisory Board said Monday it seriously doubts that the city will be able to get through its cash crisis and has endorsed state Treasurer Andy Dillon's move to begin a 30-day review of the need for an emergency financial manager.
Detroit is deep in debt and has a more than $200 million budget deficit.
