MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
The Minneapolis Convention Center turned into a one-stop shop for those without a place to call home on Monday via the annual Project Homeless Connect.
The event provides services like haircuts, dental work, and employment options to people living on the streets or on the verge of losing their home.
Organizers expected to help about 2,000 people.
"It's the ability to put a bunch of services in one place," explained Matthew Ayres. "So, you can get something done in a day that might take a week or three weeks in the normal community."
Project Homeless Connect Minneapolis was one of 28 similar events across the state. Over 1,000 volunteers donated their time.
