FCC: No evidence that electronics interfere with flights

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The head of the Federal Communications Commission says it may be time to end the ban on the use of smartphones and tablets on board airplanes.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski says 20 years of testing has shown no evidence that the devices interfere with flights. Genachowski says it is now only a matter of time before the devices will be cleared for use.

The Federal Aviation Administration released a study in August backing up that claim.
