MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Slippery and slick -- that's the condition of many Minnesota roads, and that's caused more than 600 crashes and nearly 1,300 spinouts since 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were 654 crashes statewide and 1,299 spinouts or requests for help from 9:30 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Monday. Of those incidents, 67 involved injuries and one death was reported.
Troopers were busy with weekend DWI patrols as well, and Lt. Eric Roeske told FOX 9 News they made 27 arrests overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation pulled its plows off the roads in the Granite Falls, Madison, Marshall and Montevideo areas of southwestern Minnesota until conditions improved.
More than 150 flights at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport were canceled due to the storm.
