FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -- Popular radio personality Frankie Darcell was let go from Mix 92.3 Thursday along with several other talented Clear Channel employees.

Darcell says she's a "girl from Brooklyn" who came here from Charlotte, North Carolina and initially only planned to stay for three years.  She ended up working eleven years at WMXD-FM.

"It's turned into a very lucrative career.  I hope that I have been as good to Detroit as Detroit has been to me," she says.

Clear Channel also parted ways with five other well-liked on-air talents.

In this video report, Fox 2's Andrea Isom tells you what the longtime Detroit radio diva wants her listeners to know about her sudden departure.
