
A battle between burgeoning Twin Cities heavyweights and big league-bound bantamweights headline Saturday's CFX 41 "A Season's Beatings" at Target Center.
The 15-plus fight MMA card, presented by Element Arms & Cage Fighting Xtreme,
is headlined by hard-hitting heavyweights Kevin "Concrete" Asplund of Minneapolis and Brett Murphy of St. Paul. Asplund (13-2) is coming off a bloody Bellator Fighting Championships brawl with former Strikeforce title contender Brett Rogers. Murphy is ranked in the top five in the state's weight class with a record of 8-1 in the cage.
The co-main event features Minnesota submission wizard Melvin Blumer (6-2) vs. KO craving Laramie "Contract Killer" Shaffer (6-2) of Omaha, Nebraska.
