Maggots found in 90-year-old patient`s ear, family suing nursing home

The family of a 90-year-old Alzheimer's patient is suing a suburban nursing home, after they said dozens of maggots were found inside the patient's ear.
Catherine McCann's family filed a medical malpractice suit this week against The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights. They said the nursing home on Oakton Street did not provide a reasonable standard of professional care.
The family said 57 maggots were found inside McCann's ear.
