Chicago’s Most Wanted: Serial bank robber

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

This is a mini crime spree that began on Thanksgiving Day. While many shoppers were out looking for bargains to save money, this individual was out looking for free money.

The individual is responsible for three bank robberies in the far north suburbs. The first robbery occurred November 22nd at the TCF branch bank inside the Jewel near Green Bay Road and Grand Avenue.

On November 28th, the same man robbed a TCF Bank in Zion, also inside a Jewel store, on 21st Street near Sheridan Road.

The most recent incident happened December 1st. This time our bandit returned to Waukegan where he robbed the PNC Bank on Belvidere Road near Lewis.

Based on the photos, the man appears confident and carefree about these robberies, making no attempts to cover his face or in any way shield his identity.

In each of these cases, this man has walked up to the bank teller, presented a note indicating a robbery. He implies that he has a weapon, but has never displayed one. After getting the cash, he casually walks out of the bank and disappears.

But based on his pattern of behavior, it is believed that his string of robberies probably is not over.

The fact that he robbed three banks in a little more than a week indicates a strong possibility that his crime spree will continue until he is caught. Bank robbers can be unpredictable at times, and while he has not shown a weapon so far, we can't say for sure that he is unarmed. We would like to catch him before he strikes again.

Here is the FBI's description of this bandit:

He is a black male in his 20's.

He's 5-8 to 5-9 with a thin to medium build.

He has brown hair and brown eyes and wears a black jacket.

He is considered a danger to the community, if you see him, call police.
