The Gopher men's basketball team continued theirstrong start to the season with an 88-64 win over South Dakota State Tuesdaynight at Williams Arena.
Minnesota (9-1) was led by sophomore Andre Hollins with 22 points in the win.Hollins was in the zone from beyond the arc making six-of-seven three pointers.The Gophers led 48-24 at the half
"Andre Hollins got us off to a good start, knocking down shots. We have beendefending people extremely well and that was good to see," said Tubby Smith. "Althoughthey knocked down some open threes...we held our opponent under 40 percent, andthat's one of our goals."
Austin Hollins added 17 points while Joe Coleman finished with 15 points andseven rebounds. Trevor Mbakwe scored eight points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Minnesota hits the road this weekend when they face USC at 9:30 p.m. onSaturday night.
