Police in Mankato, Minn., are looking for a 21-year-old woman they say kidnapped her two young children on Tuesday.
Mankato police say the search for a 21-year-old mother who took her two children from foster care contacted them on Monday and has turned herself in without incident.
Police say Reina Marie Gandarilla called police and said she wanted to turn herself in at about 1:55 p.m.
Officers found her at the Budget Host Motel and Mankato, and she was arrested on a warrant for depriving another of custodial or parental rights.
Last Tuesday, a nationwide search was for 2-year-old Isiaah and 4-month-old Iyanna Gandarilla after Gandarilla sent a text to the foster family to say she was taking the children to a clinic; however, officials did not believe Gandarilla had access to a car.
The children appeared to be in good health, police say. They have since been returned to foster care.
Gandarilla is now in the Blue Earth County Jail pending her first court appearance.
