Georgia officials say they are shutting down two daycare centers in Warner Robins after discovering violations that endangered dozens of children.
The Telegraph of Macon reports the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning ordered the emergency closures for Unique Tutoring and Individualized Children Academy locations in middle Georgia. Officials say rule violations regarding transportation, supervision of children and criminal background checks of employees were found at both centers.
Kay Helliwig, assistant commissioner for childcare for the state agency, says an investigation is ongoing.
Venetta Taylor, who owns the two daycare centers, told the newspaper she had no immediate comment when reached Saturday.
The agency says a total of 46 children were attending the two centers during its last check. The emergency closures were to take effect Monday.
