Two Democrats who voted for that record 67-percent income tax increase last year have now been given high paying state jobs, according to our FOX affiliate in Springfield.
Former representative Bob Flider has been approved as the director of agriculture, even though he has no agriculture experience.
He voted for the tax hike after campaigning against it during the 2010 election which he lost. The job pays about $133,000 a year.
And former representative Mike Smith of Canton has been confirmed for a spot on the Illinois educational labor relations board. That job pays $94,000 a year.
Smith also voted for the tax increase after losing a bid for re-election.
