ATLANTA -
Police say a tractor-trailer truck carrying a load of granite tile spilled it onto a busy highway in Smyrna on Thursday morning, partially shutting down the highway.
Smyrna police say the truck spilled the load on South Cobb Drive in front of Wade Ford, and both southbound lanes were blocked.
The driver of the truck told FOX 5 that he was carrying 47,000 pounds of marble from Texas to New York when a car in front of him slammed on his brakes. When he slammed on his, the load of tiles shifted and spilled out onto the road.
The southbound lanes have since been reopened.
