INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -
One lane of I-75 remains closed several hours after a tanker truck flipped on it's side at Sashabaw Road in Independence Township.
Michigan State Police say the cause of the early morning accident is still under investigation but there are reports the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
The Oakland Press reports the tanker was carrying 4,100 pounds of industrial glue and leaked diesel fuel. A second truck was on the scene to transfer the contents of the tanker involved in the incident.
According to Troopers clean up of the spill was slowed because a Hazmat team had to travel from Midland.
