ATLANTA -
Atlanta police have one man in custody who is accused of breaking into a northeast Atlanta pharmacy early on Wednesday morning.
Investigators say a citizen called 911 after witnessing a man throw a brick through the front door at Tuxedo Pharmacy and Gifts on West Wieuca Road at around 1:45 a.m.
Atlanta police say when units arrived on the scene, they saw the front door had been smashed, and the suspect, identified as Johnny Wright, fleeing out of the back door. After a short foot chase, Wright was caught.
According to police, Wright had $185 in cash taken from two registers at the pharmacy. They say he also had a bottle containing liquid, and a bottle containing hydrocodone.
Police arrested Wright, who had an outstanding warrant for burglary in Atlanta, and a warrant out of Gainesville, Georgia for violation of probation from a previous charge of burglary.
Wright is being held in the Fulton County Jail.
