LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - The Chicago Bears have signed former Pro Bowl offensive lineman Andre Gurode, hoping to boost a short-handed unit.
The Bears announced the signing Tuesday, a day after right guard Lance Louis was placed on injured reserve. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Sunday's win over Minnesota on a blindside hit by the Vikings' Jared Allen and will miss the rest of the season.
Left guard Chris Spencer also left the game with a knee injury.
A 5-time Pro Bowl pick, Gurode made five starts at left guard and appeared in 13 games for Baltimore last season after playing with Dallas from 2002 to 2010.
Chicago also waived defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, signed offensive lineman Derek Dennis and receiver Dale Moss to the practice squad, and terminated the practice squad contracts of receiver Raymond Radway and guard Chris Riley.
