Feeling lucky? You better get a Powerball ticket. Georgia Lottery officials said Wednesday that the jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing has hit a staggering $500 million-- the largest jackpot in the history of the game.
The jackpot has been growing since October 6, and it has rolled over 15 times. It's the second-largest jackpot in Georgia Lottery history, second only to the world record $656 million Mega Millions jackpot back in March.
Wednesday night's jackpot offers two payment options. One winner could opt to receive their $500 million winnings over the course of 29 years in a total of 30 payments--- or they could take the cash option and walk away with approximately $327 million up front. Either way, it sounds like a pretty good deal.
The drawing happens Wednesday night, so they're still time to get your tickets. They'll cost you $2.00 each.
