A student attending St. Catherine University is recovering after she was dragged into the woods and sexually assaulted Monday morning near Riverside Park on her way to campus.
A student attending St. Catherine University is recovering after she was dragged into the woods and sexually assaulted Monday morning near Riverside Park on her way to campus.
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Minneapolis police have released a Minnesota BCA sketch of a suspect in the Nov. 19 sexual assault of a St. Catherine University student near Riverside Park.
Officers were called to the area of West River Parkway and 27th Avenue South around 7 a.m. that morning. They learned the victim was attacked, dragged into the woods and sexually assaulted while walking to St. Kate's.
The victim ran away after the assault and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Alerts were sent out to students and staff at St. Catherine University, which is just two blocks away. Alerts were also sent out at other nearby schools, urging students to be careful and use the buddy system when walking.
The case was assigned to Sgt. David Mattson of the Minneapolis Police Department's Sex Crimes Unit. If anybody recognizes the individual pictured in the composite sketch, please call Sgt. Mattson at 612-673-2358. The case number for this incident is 12-359509.
Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000.00 for information in the case.
