Iris Pérez started at FOX 9 in November 2012 as a general assignment reporter.
Before joining FOX 9, Iris served as a per diem reporter for FOX 2 Detroit where she won an Emmy for her inspirational coverage of Ron Bachman's "Walk This Way" tour. Prior to joining the FOX family, Iris served as a reporter, weekend assignment editor and fill-in host for WJRT-TV in Flint, Mich. She began her television news career in 2007 at WMBD/WYZZ-TV in Peoria, Ill., where she served as a general assignment reporter for more than two years.
Iris is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is a member of the Empowering Diversity Speakers Bureau and National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
When Iris is not chasing the news on FOX 9 at 9 and 10, she enjoys Bikram Yoga, Latin dance, cooking Puerto Rican cuisine, teaching English as a second language, classic acoustic guitar, reading, and FaceTiming with her beautiful two-year-old niece.
