The Edina Hornets took care of Holy Family and Wayzata over the weekend to capture the 2012 Turkey Trot championship. Eight hornets scored goals in the two games led by Connor Hurley and Matt Nelson with two each.
Edina entered the season ranked second in AA behind defending champion Benilde St. Margaret's. The Red Knights open the season Saturday night as they travel to Moorhead to face the Spuds. They follow that up with home games against Burnsville and Hill-Murray.
