Talker: Doctors advised to prescribe morning after pill to teens in advance

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
The American Academy of Pediatrics called on pediatricians to counsel all of their teen patients about emergency contraception, and have advance prescriptions available to girls under 17 Monday.
Current policy bans over-the-counter sales of the pills to girls under 17.
Supporters said having a prescription on hand could help younger teens get emergency contraception more quickly than if they have to contact a doctor after they need it.
That recommendation, of course, has many parents uncomfortable.
Dr. Mona Khanna joined FOX 32 News at Noon to explain the pros and cons of this new development regarding the morning after pill.
