Body of missing Streamwood 20-year-old found at Shady Oaks Park

A 20-year-old Streamwood woman eported missing earlier this month was found dead in a park in the northwest suburb on Thanksgiving Day.

Rachel Morris was last seen on about 8 p.m. Nov. 12 in the area of Shady Oaks Park at 777 S. Bartlett Rd. in Streamwood, according to a missing person alert issued by Streamwood police after her disappearance.

Morris was found on Thursday in a wetland area of the park, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:41 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police said Morris had a history of substance and alcohol abuse, police said. An autopsy on Friday was inconclusive, pending the results of toxicology tests, according to the medical examiner's office.
