Homelessness is on the rise in the metro, with Hennepin County officials now using two overflow shelters because homelessness is at a five-year high and other shelters are full.
FOX 9 News spoke with Mikkel Beckmen, executive director of St. Stephen's Human Services, to discuss why there has been a 15 percent rise in family shelter use and 7 percent rise in single adult shelter use this year.
