The city of Falcon Heights is warning residents about a water quality scam that is asking residents to divulge personal information.
According to city officials, several complaints were received from residents on Arona Street on Tuesday over testing kits that were left on doorsteps.
A note attached to the water quality testing kits asks residents to fill a water bottle with city water for testing and to complete the personal information request attached for when the bottles are collected.
Officials say the water testing kits are a scam, and they urge anyone who sees someone dropping off the kits to call 911 immediately.
The city of St. Louis Park sent a tweet to FOX 9 News on Tuesday afternoon reporting similar kits appeared in that metro suburb recently as well.
