ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) -
Officials say a man was arrested on Monday afternoon after he hit a coworker in the face with a rake while working on the roof of the Stearns County Jail.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fight on the roof of the jail around 3:17 p.m. Monday. Officers found a 23-year-old man who had a large cut on his forehead and a tooth knocked out.
Warren Smith, 43, of St. Cloud was arrested on second-degree assault charges.
Other workers who witnessed the fight said an argument escalated into a physical confrontation. During the fight, Smith struck the victim in the face with a rake used for spreading rocks.
Smith and the victim were hired for the roofing job by Horizon Roofing through a temp agency.
