Robots invaded Edina on Thursday, but not because of some science-fiction clash.
Over 300 creators and robotics aficionados attended the Robotics Conference and Expo, doubling last year's crowds.
Besides showing off the latest trends in automated technology, the goal of the conference is to establish the Twin Cities as a regional center of excellence in the robotics industry.
"The idea is that there are a lot of robotics activities in the Midwest, and we really believe that Minnesota and the heartland can be a global center for robotics innovation," said Andrew Wittenborg.
The robots on display included designs that could be used by both the military and police.
This was the second year the conference has been held.
