Metro Transit's park-and-ride lot at Rosedale shopping center will close permanently at the end of the service day on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 23, transit commuters who currently park at Rosedale have two nearby options: the Interstate 35W and County Road C park-and-ride ramp and the Grace Church park-and-ride lot. These are the same options made available during a temporary closure of the Rosedale park-and-ride during the 2011 holiday season.
Beginning Dec. 10, service will be expanded from the 35W and County Road C lots, and express service to downtown Minneapolis begins from a new 280-space park-and-ride lot at Highway 36 and Rice Street.
35W & County Road C park-and-ride
Located east of Cleveland Avenue and two blocks north of County Road C, has four levels and 460 parking spaces. It features covered parking, a climate-controlled waiting area and real-time departure signs.
Grace Church park-and-ride
Located east of Hamline Avenue south of County Road B2 and will be served by express routes to downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota.
Highway 36 & Rice St. park-and-ride
Located about 3½ miles east of Rosedale in at the southeast corner of Highway 36 and Rice Street in Little Canada. The 280-space surface lot will provide express service to downtown Minneapolis and limited-stop and local service to downtown St. Paul. The facility features lighted customer-waiting areas with on-demand heat and an electric vehicle charging station.
