It is a unique Veterans Day tradition. The annual Veterans Day Lighted Parade was held on Sunday in Douglas County. The event is touted as the only night parade of its type in the country.
This Sunday's parade was the 13th time the annual commemoration was held. Veterans, bands, JROTC units, and other members of the community from all walks of life participated in the parade.
The core of the Douglas County community came out to participate either in the parade or lining the street, but it's their stories as to why they participate that would touch even the toughest American.
