Lincoln, Skyfall very different but equally brilliant: Zwecker

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

There couldn't be two more different movies opening this weekend - the 23rd James Bond film "Skyfall" and Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."

Based in part on Doris Kearns Goodwin's acclaimed book "Team of Rivals," Steven Spielberg has crafted another brilliant film with "Lincoln."

It focuses on the last four months of Abraham Lincoln's life, the passage of the 13th amendment and the closing months of the Civil War.

Without question, Daniel Day-Lewis has again totally channeled a character, delivering another Oscar-quality performance as our iconic 16th president, showing him as both an inspired leader and a very crafty, savvy politician.

Sally Field is amazing as Mary Todd Lincoln and the same can be said for Tommy Lee Jones as the famed slave fighting congressman Thaddeus Stevens.

Though this film is superb, I do stress you need to be a great lover of history to truly enjoy it.

Now, from history to pure action and fast-paced fun.

"Skyfall" is not only the best of the Daniel Craig James Bond films, it's one of the best "007" movies ever.

Sam Mendes has directed it beautifully, his very first action picture, and we get to see more of Judi Dench as "M" here, than in any of her earlier six Bond films.

Javier Bardem has created one of the most deliciously evil Bond villains with his Silva character and most important of all, Daniel Craig not only again delivers the goods, but we get to see a far deeper, richer look into 007's real back story with some tremendous twists and surprises that audiences will love.

Next week we talk about Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2. My interviews with the cast starting on Tuesday.

We've got exclusive interviews with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and all those fun blood-sucking vampires.
