MENOMONIE, Wis. (KMSP) -
A deer that crashed through a window at the University of Wisconsin-Stout vocational rehabilitation building caused an estimated $5,500 in damages, according to university officials.
The damage estimate includes the cost of repairing the window and cleaning up a blood trail left by the deer. The window has been boarded up until workers can fit a new piece of glass.
The deer crashed through the window on the east of the building around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday after being chased by a dog. The deer exited the building through the automatic doors on the south end.
The blood trail was tracked through campus, but the deer was never found.
