PRIOR LAKE, Minn. (KMSP) -
Alcohol is now being served at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., but you will not be able to drink and gamble just yet.
Liquor sales will first be offered at Mystic Steakhouse, Meadows Bar and Grille and convention areas. Alcohol will then expand to locations near the gaming floor. Alcohol will also be available at concerts and events starting Nov. 21.
"Adding alcohol service to the Mystic Lake experience has been the most frequent request made by our guests for many years," said Edward Stevenson, president and CEO of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Gaming Enterprise. "We've studied the idea very carefully as we've evolved toward a casino resort atmosphere over the past several years."
Mystic Lake has trained its nearly 2,400 employees on alcohol service and awareness. The hotel and casino has also begun the process of filling about 70 new jobs created by alcohol sales.
