CANBY, Minn. -
Officials in Yellow Medicine County confirm that a bomb threat reported shortly before noon at the Minnesota West Community and Technical College campus in Canby, Minn., disrupted voting on Election Day.
Dispatchers received a call at 11:24 a.m. saying that an unknown suspect had used a pen to write "bomb in school" on the inside of bathroom stall door in the women's restroom.
The two students who found the writing immediately reported it to school officials, and Campus Dean Rebecca Webber immediately had the property evacuated while officials were contacted.
The Canby Police Department, Canby Fire Department, Canby Ambulance, Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol responded, but the scene was declared safe at 1 p.m.
Several buildings were affected by the evacuation, including the Technology Building, which housed a polling precinct.
The investigation into the threats is still ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Canby police at 507-233-7211.
