A national organization is changing the lives of two hometown heroes forever touched by their sacrifice to our country.
In the sea of lights, sounds, and concert-goers at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park are two Georgia men who can be called heroes.
Marine Cpl. Todd Love served his country in Afghanistan until October 25th of 2010. That is when the 22-year-old Kell High School graduate stepped on an improvised explosive device, also known as an IED, in Helmand province. The explosion cost him his left arm and both his legs. Sgt. First Class Michael Schlitz was burned over 85 percent of his body and lost both of his arms, when his Humvee hit an IED while serving with the US Army in Iraq in 2007.
Saturday, the two were guests of honor at a fundraiser concert for them featuring Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band and The Singing Cop from New York,
The proceeds will allow Tunnel to Towers Foundation to build completely customized smart homes for service members.
