Nisswa, Minn., man rescued after Sandy sinks tall ship

Posted: Updated:

The turbulent waters kicked up by superstorm Sandy led to a dramatic rescue at sea on Monday.

The Coast Guard leapt into action to rescue 14 people from the HMS Bounty off the coast of North Carolina.

The crew included John Svendsen, of Nisswa, Minn.

Officials say the crew was forced to abandon ship when the Bounty began to sink.

The captain remains missing as of Monday night.
