NORTHFIELD, Minn. (KMSP) -
Police in Northfield, Minn. have arrested a man who robbed a motel at gunpoint and fired shots at officers early Monday morning.
Eric Forcier, 26, of Northfield was taken into custody without incident at 10:55 a.m. He was found hiding in a vehicle in an industrial area near the motel.
According to police, the robbery happened around 2:47 a.m. at America's Best Value Inn at 1420 Riverview Drive. Forcier entered the motel and robbed an employee at gunpoint.
The suspect's car was found near the scene of the robbery and a woman who was riding in the car was taken into police custody. Forcier ran, firing shots at police as fled the area.
The woman cooperated with police, giving them Forcier's name.
