ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KMSP) -
Snow flakes were flying Thursday morning in much of Minnesota, including St. Cloud, Alexandria, Hibbing, Redwood Falls and others areas.
In the Twin Cities, the morning precipitation came as steady rainfall. But by midday, fat flakes of snow were falling in the metro.
Slippery conditions were likely a factor in a school bus crash Thursday morning near Little Falls, about two hours northwest of the metro. The bus ended up on its side after losing control on a slippery curve. There were 15 students were on board at the time.
None of the students, which ranged in age from middle-school to younger, were seriously hurt; however, six were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Expect a cold and blustery Thursday afternoon as temperatures fall from the 40s into the 30s -- and expect wind chills in the 20s for your evening commute.
In recent days, the metro area has seen its heaviest rainfall since Aug. 15, with 0.72 inches recorded at MSP Airport since Wednesday.
